Are sniffer dogs the answer to detecting dieback?

Ryan Tate, from Tate Animal Training Enterprises joined Julie-Anne Sprague to discuss how the state government recently hired Ryan and two scent-detection dogs to trial their ability to detect dieback, an excursion that yielded surprising results.

 A recent field trip has provided surprising results showing the dogs could detect the tiny polyphagous shot-hole borer that has left a trail of destruction and continues to threaten Perth’s tree canopy.
