‘We’ve tried everything’: families share the tragic results of meth addiction

As emotionally detailed on 6PR Mornings yesterday, the fallout of meth and other drug addictions is leaving lasting scars in once-happy families.

Caller “Jane” told Gary Adshead about how she hoped her son would be put in jail, as it would be better than receiving the news she fears on a daily basis.

Palmerston House CEO Emma Jarvis experiences the issue first-hand,  and says it’s part of wider-ranging social issues that are leading people to crippling habits.

“Across the sector we do have high waitlists, but workers and volunteers are doing what they can 24 hours, seven days a week,” Ms Jarvis said.
