With former Premier Mark McGowan set to join miners BHP and Mineral Resources in consulting roles, Brad Pettit MLC has floated a cooling-off period for politicians joining the private sector.

Mr Pettit spoke with Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live and warned about the blurring of lines between the government and private companies.

“I’ll be very surprised if Mark McGowan hadn’t had those discussions around joining different companies even before he left office…it becomes a very blurred line here.”
