Government’s ‘Bizarre’ Goldmaster bid slammed by scathing CCC review

Simon Beaumont

An attempt by the Barnett Government to enter the property game by buying shares in a private development company has been labelled as “misleading” by the Corruption and Crime Commission.

CCC Commissioner John McKechnie told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings government ministers were “mislead” on the actual details of the share purchase into development company Goldmaster in 2015.

“As far as we can see, the ministers were not told that the investment was actually in a company,” Mr McKechnie said.

“Part of the problem is poor record keeping; for instance, we haven’t been able to find a proper business case.”
