The man who called the winning kick in the West Coast Eagles’ first Premiership win has shared some unfortunate news regarding his health.

Sandy Roberts commentated for eight Summer Olympics, 19 Grand Finals and around 1100 AFL and VFL games.

Nine News sports reporter Mark Readings told Millsy and Karl onĀ 6PR Breakfast the 73-year-old was an iconic member of Australia’s sports commentary industry.

“Our thoughts go out to his family, and we wish him all the best,” Mr Readings said.
