The most coveted scholarship in Western Australia’s sports media industry has been awarded for 2019.

Edith Cowan University’s Ashleigh Nelson was honoured with the 6PR George Grljusich Sports Broadcasting Award and Scholarship, created after the famed broadcaster’s passing in 2007.

Nelson brings a wealth of sporting experience as a former Australian hockey player, a striker for the Australia women’s national field hockey team. Nelson made her international debut in 2007 against Japan and by the end of her career she had played 205 games for Australia, scoring 69 international goals.

Meet 6PR’s newest broadcaster below.
