6PR reporter road tests City of Stirling’s new e-scooters, with hilarious results

6PR reporter Jake Battrick gave Breakfast listeners a hilarious insight into his morning experience trialing the City of Stirling’s new e-scooter rental program.
Battrick hit the busy footpaths along the coast of Scarborough for his first taste of two-wheel action, which costs $1 to activate then 45c every minute thereafter.
“I couldn’t think of a better way to start the day,” he said.
Battrick hit some trouble though when he tried to take the scooter off the footpath to catch some shade under a tree.
“If you try to take off with one of these scooters Gareth, it starts yelling at you, saying ‘criminal activity will be reported’,” he said.
