6PR Football recruit McPharlin predicts pain for West Coast

Former Fremantle defender Luke McPharlin has joined the 6PR Football team for season 2022.
After spending a few years in Broome with his family, the McPharlins are back living in Perth, with Luke on deck to call every Fremantle home game.
He told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that Fremantle appeared to have a good mix of youth and experience this year, while predicting West Coast to struggle.
“I’ve been watching Fremantle from afar and still have close friends working there. They’ve got some real energy, they’ve got some youth, some elder statesmen, so there’s a good balance there,” McPharlin said.
“The Eagles, well, will they galvanise or fall apart even further? The age of their list, where it is, you wouldn’t expect them to challenge for the top 8.”
McPharlin predicted Melbourne to go back-to-back in 2022.
“It’s always tricky this time of the year but with the brand of football that they’re playing, as long as they’ve got that hunger, they’re going to be hard to stop.”
The 6PR Football team includes Karl Langdon, Mark Readings, Adam Papalia, Will Schofield, McPharlin, Tania Armstrong, Glen Jakovich, Lee Spurr and Brad Hardie, David Schwarz, Shane McInnes and Matt Granland in Melbourne, who will call tonight’s season opener between Melbourne and Western Bulldogs at 4.10pm on 6PR.
