There are concerns the Taliban’s recent ban on female aid workers in Afghanistan will cost lives.

The ban has caused many aid services to be shut down impacting their ability to help those in need.

Regional Advocacy and Campaigns Director of Save the Children Asia Shaheen Chughtaitold 6PR Mornings this ban will have a major impact on millions of people.

“The impact of this ban by preventing organisations from employing female staff is to effectively cripple our operations,” said Dr Chughtaitold.

“Unless we simply have the female staff we cannot reach half the population of women and girls.”
