The State Government has announced a $6 million flood recovery package for the Kimberley tourism sector to ensure operators are supported in the recovery of WA’s worst flood event

Minister for Tourism, Roger Cook, told Jo McManus on 6PR Afternoons the new package hopes to bring people back to the Kimberley region for peak holiday seasons.

“There’s a perception out there that the Kimberley is underwater and everything has stopped, but it’s not. The Kimberley tourism industry is open for business,” Mr Cook said.

“It covers three essentials elements – one, we will be taking on a marketing campaign – to really highlight how wonderful it us up in the Kimberley and how ready people are for customers and guests.”
