Australia Post licensed operators have expressed their frustration at underhanded tactics being taken by the big banks, saying hey are now handling their financial repsonsibilities.

Australia Post Licensees Group Executive Director Angela Cramp told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the rampant closure of banks has forced services like cash transfers to be focused on post offices.

“They’ve just abandoned any community service obligation they may have had, yet they still enjoy the government guarantee,” Ms Cramp said.

“They’ve closed down so many branches, and yet we’re all still paying a fortune to keep it going.”
