$368 billion price tag for AUKUS sub fleet
Anthony Albanese has announced Australia will spend $368 billion by 2055 to assemble a fleet of eight nuclear-powered submarines.
The agreement will begin with the purchase of five Virginia-class vessels from the US, with the entire plan creating 20 thousand Australian jobs.
The Prime Minister said the initial purchase will be “a stop-gap until we can build our own.”
