Commodity prices for beef, wheat, canola, dairy and fruit and vegetables are at record highs or close to them.

Rabobank Senior Commodities Analyst Cheryl Kalisch Gordon told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings Australians were having to adapt to limited stock and higher prices, which were expected to keep rising.

She said businesses were being warned by suppliers to prepare to pass on rising costs to consumers.
