Last week Medibank announced a major data breach, with millions of people’s medical data at risk. 

The situation has only worsened after the hackers increased ransom demands.

Information Security Media Group executive editor Jeremy Kirk told 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett the situation is only going to get worse.

“The numbers of people affected are proportionally going to grow,” Mr Kirk said.

“This is absolutely devastating.”
