2000 year old pearl found in WA
A 2000 year old pearl has been discovered in the state’s Kimberley.
The natural marine pearl was uncovered by archaeologists from the University of Wollongong and University of New England using radiocarbon analysis to confirm its age.
Associate Professor Kat Szabo from the Centre for Archaeological Science at the University of Woollongong told Peter Bell the find is ‘irreplaceable.’
