In a bid to battle the ongoing skills shortages, the government has made 114 Western Australian TAFE courses free.

There is over 18,000 places available across a variety of fields including, healthcare, technology and construction.

Minister for education and training Sue Ellery told 6PR Breakfast hosts Steve Mills and Karl Langdon the funding is to help people reskill.

“It’s about helping people to reskill and retrain as much as it is setting up young ones for their future careers,” said Minister Ellery
