New Year’s Eve is almost here and for many pet owners, the dreaded fireworks can cause a lot of stress for their furry friends.

President of Dogs Australia Hugh Gent told 6PR Afternoons pet owners should wear their dog out before the fireworks.

“Exercise your dog before the fireworks,” said Mr Gent.

“Show them you’re not afraid.”
