The West Australian Police Force have banded together with ten different retail groups to tackle the rise in shoplifting.

WA Police Detective Inspector Tony Rosenberg told Michael Thomson on 6PR Mornings they were looking at different ways to tackle theft and keep staff safe.

Press PLAY to hear what WA Police are doing to prevent shoplifting.

“We look at the way entrances are set up, particularly with liquor stores and what barriers they have to prevent potential offenders from coming in,” Mr Rosenberg said.

“But also we are trying to balance the enjoyable shopping experience for customers as well.”
