The WA Liberal’s incoming president has denied the party is out of touch with the public and that criticism of the Liberals is “academic”.

WA Liberal Party president Caroline Di Russo told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings debates over the political ideology of the party are reductive when voters want practical solutions.

“I think it’s always important to look at your brand, but I think it’s really important for the Liberals to get back to what they’re good at, which is practical and effective policy,” Ms Di Russo said.
