Australia’s leading premium retailer David Jones has experienced up to a 30 per cent decline in sales in its city, suburban and regional stores across the country.

Perth’s own Hay Street Mall store has seen a drop in sales of over 18 per cent.

Senior Business Reporter with The Australian, Eli Greenblat, detailed the “problem” facing retailers in the wake of the steep decline on 6PR Afternoons.

“Sales have really fallen sharply… It all goes back to the same issue, people are pulling back their spending.”
