The AFL’s general manager received a promotion, taking on the role of AFL Football Operations Manger from today after Mark Evans departed this week. 

Simon Lethlean has been working at the AFL for over a decade, and put together the AFLW competition, but late on Thursday it was announced their loyal employee will take on the role of Football Operations Manager. 

Mr Lethlean spoke with Karl Langdon and Paul Hasleby on Sportsday only hours after the announcement.
