Perth parents are apparently not happy over a video that has emerged of an incident involving students on a school excursion last week.

The Department of Education’s Deputy Director General of Schools Melesha Sands said it is “never the behaviour we expect from students representing their school and community”.

“On behalf of the school and department, I apologize to the parents of the children who did the right thing and made better choices than others on this occasion,” Ms Sands said.

“As soon as the school became aware of this behaviour, the principal immediately organised and held a meeting with the parents of those students involved to discuss the behaviour and reiterate expectations.”
