The strain on labour and the difficulty in attracting female builders, carpenters, and electricians are hindering Australia’s capacity to construct an adequate number of homes.

Founder of Lady Tradies Australia Wendy Pinch, told Julie-Anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons that schools are a major contributing factor deterring girls entering into a trade. 

“…The schools are coming around a lot more, as I said, they attend a lot of the school career expos, it’s really the career advisors that need to jump on board…” Ms Pinch said.
