Revolutionary treatment for chronic back pain unveiled

The Long Lunch

Curtin-Macquarie-Monash University research has unveiled a new treatment which promises to dramatically reduce back pain.

Co-author from Curtin University’s School of Allied Health Professor Peter O’Sullivan told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons the seven-week program is showing promising signs.

“Back pain is not about a good measure of damage… it’s a measure of overprotection of the body,” said Professor O’Sullivan.

“We took them through a program… to reassure them that actually, the pain was not a sign of damage.”
