Qantas has proposed a new model for passengers to access their airport lounge, which could be more viable for the average person.

The new model ditches the traditional one-off  payment and instead adopts a low-cost ‘subscription payment’ model.

Editor of Executive Traveller David Flynn told Julie-Anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons that Qantas has only pitched a broad proposal to members. 

“Qantas has floated the idea in a survey…of adopting a month by month subscription, so you will pay small amounts for Qantas Lounge Membership every month…” Mr Flynn said.
