A Cottesloe Councillor wants to join shopping centres, entertainment areas and restaurants, to make the local beaches a smoke-free zone.

Chemicals, litter and passive smoking are all reasons Cr Sally Pyvis wants to make smoking at beaches a thing of the past.

“Unless the State Government take initiative, and they haven’t yet, to ban smoking on all beaches for every good reason, you will still be permitted to smoke,” Cr Pyvis told 6PR Breakfast.
