Property Council WA predicted that by the end of 2027, Western Australia’s housing deficit will grow by nearly 25,000 homes.

Property Council of Australia WA Interim Executive Director Emily Young told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live, “It is a big number. But we know that when we’re faced with challenges, we need to look at bold and innovative solutions, and that’s really what this platform is seeking to do, is provide a range of solutions governments can consider as we head into the election.”

“At the end of the day our core objective is to be able to house West Australians, and we’re not agnostic to a particular development style. So we are really seeking to develop an excellent product, but within, that we are looking at ways to innovate and keep costs affordable for buyers.”

“There are no bad ideas when it comes to housing supply. The only way we’re going to see more homes delivered if we are starting build, buy off the plan, really think about what the next generation of housing looks like in WA,” Ms Young said.
