The search for a missing 8-year-old boy has come to a tragic end, with his body being recovered by Police divers at Fernhook Falls in the state’s south-west

Police and SES volunteers had been searching the area for six days after the boy went missing following a boating accident during a family camping trip near Walpole.

Divers located his body on Friday, but were not able to recover it until Sunday in what police described as a “complex operation”.

His family thanked emergency services and volunteers who were involved.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
