Transgender athlete Hannah Mouncey has been told she can nominate for the AFL Women’s draft next season, despite being ruled ineligible for today’s 2018 draft.

The AFL made the decision yesterday, stating its current player cohort and Mouncey’s individual circumstances were considered.

Justin Quill, from Macpherson Kelley Lawyers, told Mornings with Gareth Parker there are legal and safety issues involved.
