Shops shut on Perth’s public holiday

This coming Monday public holiday shops will have limited opening hours of 11am-5pm, despite the Chamber of Commerce requesting the State Government allow normal trading hours.

“We weren’t really provided a reason, it seems a bit left field to me” CCI WA advocacy director Cath Langmead told 6PR Breakfast after previous public holidays had the 8am-6pm opening times.

“We’re saying that shops should be able to decide when they open, it’s not the role of Government to tell them how they should run their businesses,” Ms Langmead told Steve and Baz.

Our listeners had their say on the topic too.
