Police officer injured in samurai sword attack

A police officer has been struck in the head with a samurai sword while responding to a domestic dispute in Rockingham.

The officer suffered a fractured skull and needed 25 stitches to a gash, and he remains in Royal Perth Hospital.

 

Police Union president George Tilbury told Mornings with Gareth Parker, officers are being confronted with increasing violence across Perth.
