Iron Ore giant Fortescue invited Steve Mills to get a rare insight into how the mining company’s Port and Rail section works.

Fernando Pereira is the general manager of Port and Rail showed him around the “biggest machines you can buy”. Mr Pereira told Steve they unload about 15 trains a day that are 2.5km long each and load the iron ore onto ships heading for China.

Steve also caught up with the Aboriginal Development Coordinator at FMG, Leah King, who is considered a “legend” because she has been with the company for five years. Ms King helps with education, community groups and support.
