A majority of Australian children may not be fully protected against meningococcal disease. And 63% of WA parents are not aware that different strains of meningococcal disease requires different vaccinations.

“There is a vaccination available but it’s not used on the national immunisation schedule or the West Australian State based programs,” Eliza Ault-Connell from Meningococcal Australia told 6PR Breakfast.
