Today’s topic was regarding an issue involving a travel agency on Facebook that offers heavily discounted flights.

Despite paying, consumers were not able to get seats on a plane for their desired dates and were asked to pay more money for ‘upgrades’ to guarantee flights. Some have ended up paying more than it would have cost if they’d just
booked direct with the airline in the first place. Some have flown with a different airline than expected and had to take a
longer route home or buy return airfare because they weren’t booked on the flight back.

Consumer Protection is continuing to invite complaints and we already have dozens in hand with significant losses reported.
