How to video Police: a workshop

Millsy & Karl

Dashcams, CCTV, mobile phones…. you can be videoed almost anywhere, but there’s one group teaching people how to safely video Officers if they feel they’re being targeted by the Police.

George Newhouse is running a workshop in Belmont to educate the dos and don’ts of filming Police.

“If they’re performing their duty in a public place, why not, they’ve got nothing to fear,” Mr Newhouse told 6PR Breakfast.

“We use deescalation. It is not right to use a camera as an aggressive tool. The best thing to do is to stand back, deescalate and be an observer.”
