Former Socceroo Craig Foster says he felt a sense of responsibility as a member of the footballing community to step in and help when he found out the plight of Hakeem al-Araibi.

Hakeem was detained in Thailand under dubious charges stemming from his home country Bahrain. Foster took up his case on behalf of Australian soccer fans and the story of his journey home has been told in the new book Fighting For Hakeem.
