Hospital cover is now at its lowest level in more than 12 years after almost 10,000 Aussies dumped private health cover in the last three months of 2019.

Dr Stephen Duckett is the Health Program Director at the Grattan Institute says things will continue to get worse as younger people are dropping their health insurance while older people are signing up at an extraordinary rate.
