Private Health Insurance is set to get a whole lot easier with a proposal that packages could be rolled into a one of four classes.

“This is an improvement on the bit of a mess that we’ve got at the moment. We’ve got over 70,000 policies, lots of restrictions, lots of inclusions, lack in transparancy, lack in clarity in what you’re covered for and what you’re not. This is a step in the right direction,” Dr Tony Bartone, President of the AMA told 6PR Breakfast.

Private Healthcare Australia Chief Executive, Dr Rachel David then joined Mornings with Gareth Parker, saying she believes the new system will help consumers choose the appropriate cover for them.
