Australia has released James Pattinson and Cameron Bancroft from its squad ahead of the second test against Pakistan starting at Adelaide Oval tomorrow.

They will play shield Cricket instead while Michael Neser, who also sat out the last test, will remain with the team.

Captain Tim Paine says Bancroft will return if the team needs a concussion replacement.
