Safe Places grants will be given to two WA community services to spend on building, and buying, inner city apartments for women and children fleeing domestic violence.

Acting CEO Women’s Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services Kedy Kristal says it is essential for women to have a place to flee from family and domestic violence.

Ms Kristal also added that the effects of Covid-19 has seen a rise in domestic violence cases, so having additional refuge options is a huge bonus.
