Pingelly Shearer Luke Vernon has come out on top with a new world record for shearing 500 Merino ewes in 8 hours.

The New Zealand-born 28-year-old spoke with Julie-anne Sprague about the lead up to the event, including sourcing a specific personal trainer to prepare.

“I like the physical side of it…people think it would get boring because you are doing the same thing every day but you can challenge yourself everyday to improve,” said Vernon.
