The number of licensing centres in WA continue to dwindle, forcing residents to wait in long queues over many hours without any other options to solve their issues.

Local resident Richard Mackiewicz told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he arrived recently to a line of 30 people and in response wrote an email to the Department of Transport.

“It was actually a bit of a comedy…the oohs and the ahhs from the people turning up seeing the line and you can see them contemplating,” Mackiewicz said.

The department responded stating a number of issues contribute to the wait times, including an increase in migration from overseas and a higher number of complex customer problems.
