The Mayor of Geraldton says new Aussies should be able to wear thongs and boardies at citizenship ceremonies, despite the Prime Minister banning the casual look.

“Mate, the sunny city of Geraldton holds our Australia Day Fesitval down on the beach… in the sun on the beach,” Shane Van Styn argued with 6PR Breakfast.
