The State Government has announced landmark reforms to WA’s construction laws, with mandatory inspections of sites being a cornerstone implementation.

This includes inspections of high rise apartments of four or more stories – and commercial buildings – as they’re being constructed.

Land owners would be responsible for appointing a surveyor to carry out the assessments.

Commerce Minister Sue Ellery defended the State Government’s surplus to Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings, saying it is necessary to ensure development into the future.
