Nine News reporter Carrie-Anne Greenbank has told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that the Russian advance in Ukraine hasn’t gone as well as predicted.

The European correspondent said that the advancement on the capital had been unsuccessful due to the collective efforts of citizens and soldiers as well as logistical issues.

“The Ukrainian government has been supplying ordinary citizens who want to fight with 18,000 guns telling other people to make Molotov cocktails and essentially throw them at Russian troops as they pass by,” she said.

“They’re saying that it seems perhaps the Kremlin didn’t anticipate the level of response from Ukrainian fighters.”
