Convicted murderer Christa Pike is reportedly walking and talking following a botched execution attempt in Tennessee.

Click play to hear about the significant developments.

Pike was scheduled to be executed on September 30 after being found guilty in 1996 of torturing and murdering 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer.

Speaking with 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy & Karl, WBIR journalist and witness John North said that the 50-year-old is now recovering.

“We learnt she woke up actually Tuesday morning, took limited steps Wednesday afternoon. Now she’s walking with some assistance. Her arms, and you’ll remember that the IV tubes were fed into her arms to send that pentobarbital in, she suffered significant injuries but now her attorneys are telling us they’re healing and she’s regaining movement and strength. That is really significant,” he said.
