Katter’s cash outrage: Outspoken MP drops the hammer on supermarkets

After trying to pay for his lunch with cash at Parliament House and being told it would not be accepted, Bob Katter has had enough.

The outspoken MP has joined many of his colleagues in demanding change from retailers and the big supermarket chains, as complaints over service – and the lack thereof – continue to pile up.

I’m a bloke that walks around always with a twenty dollars note in my pocket, and I get really cranky if some place tells me they won’t accept it,” Mr Katter said.

“We’ve had cyclones here, and you don’t notice it until you suddenly haven’t got the electricity; now it’s going to be happening all the time.”
