Perth’s housing price is set to climb at a more stable level than those of the eastern states, but that’s not likely to take any pressure off the rental supply.

Domain’s chief of research and economics Doctor Nicola Powell told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the 0.4 per cent vacancy rate for rentals in Perth is a uniquely stressful problem.

“And when you think about who’s arriving form overseas it’s typically younger people… a lot of them are going to university so we know where they’re going: it’s going to be inner-city, it’s going to be around those university areas,” Ms Powell said.
