A veteran doctor and smoking cessation specialist says anti-vaping campaigns are harmful and are “costing people’s lives”.

Dr Colin Mendelsohn says there is a “flood of misinformation in Australia on vaping”, and it’s prompted him to launch his own campaign.

“We see a totally different story in the UK and New Zealand where the government’s actually encourage people to vape, and they provide accurate information.

“In Australia our state governments are being given us blatantly untruthful and misleading information, actually lying to the public, and I think it needs to be called out.”
