Workers at Ingham’s chicken factories have walked off the job this morning after pay negotiations broke down.

Up to 250 union members in WA are demanding a six per cent increase, which equates to roughly $1.50 per hour.

6PR Reporter Jessica Shackleton told Jamie Burnett on 6PR Mornings  the protest had become tense as angry workers blocked trucks from entering.

“Police will be arresting and charging [union] members with obstruction if they don’t allow trucks inside the complex,” Ms Shackleton said.

Press PLAY to hear more about the protests

United Workers Union Coordinator Louise Dillon claims workers have been intimidated in the lead up to today’s action.
